a quotidiant one

haven't blogged for two months now...and thanks to deeparaya holiday i'm able to take a badly needed break, to online and to do whatever stuffs that the lack of time has been depriving me from all this while...last two months have been relatively busy...stressed out on the preparation for oxford interview...really am thankful to all my friends that have given superb ideas and guidance and support...lucky thing was that the interviewer did not ask any personal questions but just maths and maths and maths...some of which i dithered and i felt nothing but stupid not being able to answer them...however badly the interview went, it's finally over!! and i sort of celebrated the post-interview by spending some time with my hostel mates..played tanglung and candles and ya not to forget those delectable mooncakes!! absolutely in love with the mixed-nuts mooncake...am craving for it even at this moment...haha...wonder if there's any after-festivity-low-priced stocks available in the market now..hmm...
without fail in every long post i'd post my comments on the movies i've seen...so ...the last two months i've seen snakes, the banquet, on the edge, nanny mcphee, the devil wears prada, john tucker must die, rob-b-hood and eight below....so my takes-->

snaKes- a movie that i was practically in a shocked-mode most of the time, cuz snakes lie in my category of pets-of-aversion, along with sharks. The movie was fine overall, though graphic wasn't that good compared to anaconda.

thE baquet- excellently directed, love the setting. A little slow-paced however. Zi Yi escalated to an even higher level of performance.

oN the edge - a very emotional movie. reminds me of infernal affairs. it shows ever clearly that we are not always granted the luxury of choosing and forced to accept the predicament we've been put into, or worse still, to be glad of being in such states.

nanny mcphee - a light watch for people who wants some fairy tale after a hard day ;)

the devil wearS prada - standin ovation for meryl streep!! she's just so stylishly devilish and the way she sends your ego (which has alrealy dwindled to a paucity of basic self confidence the moment she sets her ever small but piercing sharp eyes on you) escalating down to nothing but self-hatred out of imperfections is something awe-inspiring...thanks to her the movie was superb.

john tUcker must die- hmm...the heart-throb from desperate housewives jesse metcalfe was an object to idolize in the movie...the funniest part was when he took estrogen and got all gay...it's amazing that he was willing to drop his man ego and put up a great perfomance of being a little more feminine.

rob-b-hood - something different from jackie chan. he and louis khoo made great parents and without fail the comedy tickled my nerves with some really hilarious scenes. Not to forget it got quite emotional in the end when the perfect matched parents tried to save the ohh-so-charming baby...shed some tears..just like nabila ;-)

Eight below - i kept the best till the last. this will be definitely be on my top ten must watch list ( though i've not started the list hehe). it's just so so good. really evocative and truly heart-felt. it tells so much of dogs, how faithful and how STRONG they are...how the dogs supported each other with their nature instinct. I dare say even those who HATE dogs will enjoy the movie, just give it a shot please....

so, done with the movies...really am in the holiday mood now...been goin out often...most prob will go to my frens' house tomolo for raya...and ya, going down to batu pahat with shaleen to visit my crazee nabila, cant wait!!

din get to wish the hindhus happy deepavali....still..happy deepavali and selamat hari raya to all muslims on globe ;-)
